In July 2022, Target opened a small-format retail store in the Cedar Mill neighborhood of Portland, Oregon, where Bales Marketplace once stood. This Target is located on the northwest corner of the NW Cornell Road and NW Saltzman Road intersection, at 12675 NW Cornell Road. It includes a CVS-managed pharmacy and a Starbucks, similar to the former Bales store.
The Cedar Mill Target covers 49,000 square feet, typical of most small-format Target stores. The building, originally constructed in the early 1980s, housed Bales Marketplace until its closure in 2019.
Location History
Aerial images going back to the 1950s show the area with farms and there was no major development on this location until Milltowner shopping center was built.
