Costco, the multinational corporation, opened a new warehouse store in August 2023 on an 18.25-acre site along Frank Avenue NW in Ohio’s Jackson Township. The land, acquired in 2022 from Dressler Properties for $5.83 million, hosts a 160,000-square-foot warehouse with a convenience store and gas station. This facility anchors the Creekside Crossing development, attracting shoppers and fostering local economic growth.
Costco’s history dates back to 1983, when James Sinegal and Jeffrey Brotman founded the company in Seattle, Washington. The company adopted a warehouse club model, which has led to its rapid expansion to more than 800 locations worldwide. Costco offers a diverse range of products, including food, clothing, electronics, and furniture, under its private label, Kirkland Signature. By maintaining low prices for its members, Costco has established itself as a significant player in the global retail market.
Location History
Aerial images of the area date back to 1952. These images show an expanse that was once predominantly farmland. The landscape began to shift in the 1960s with the construction of Interstate 77, sparking more development in the area.
Over time, residential homes and commercial buildings gradually replaced the farmlands.
