The AMC CLASSIC Irving 10, located at 4205 W Pioneer Drive in Irving, Texas, recently closed its doors permanently. The 32,329 square-foot movie theater is now boarded up, fenced off, and its parking lot blocked. All the AMC signs have been removed, leaving very little trace of its previous existence.
It was located just south of the Irving Walmart Supercenter on Airport Freeway (Texas State Highway 183) making it a convenient spot for many. However, the theater most likely struggled to compete with the AMC Irving Mall 14, a little over a mile away.
The closed AMC CLASSIC Irving 10 was in a convenient spot for Walmart shoppers to catch a movie after their shopping trip.

AMC CLASSIC Irving 10 was formerly a Starplex Theater. Starplex Cinemas was a Dallas-based movie theater chain. In 2015 AMC Theaters, the world’s largest movie theater company, acquired and converted many of the Starplex locations to AMC CLASSIC theaters. This location was one of them.

Before the theater was built in 1995, a building on the site was constructed in the 1980s before being demolished. If anyone knows what the building was or has any memories of it, they are welcome to leave a comment below.

before becoming a starplex, the movie theater used to be a sesame place from 1982-84 and was a drive-in movie theater before that.
