Construction and opening details

This West Goshen Target spans about 120,000 square feet, repurposing the shell of the Kmart that closed in 2019. The project, confirmed in early 2025, progressed steadily and culminated in a two-day launch weekend. Approximately 120 team members now staff the store, which includes a CVS Pharmacy, a Starbucks cafรฉ, Target Optical, and fulfillment services: Drive Up, Order Pickup, same-day delivery, and next-day delivery.

Location and site history

The history of this site traces back to the late 1950s when construction of the shopping center first began. Aerial images from 1950 show the area as open farmland, gradually giving way to development by 1958. As the years passed, the site became a hub of activity, anchored by the arrival of Kmart.

That Kmart store served the community for decades until its closure in 2019, leaving the shopping center without a primary anchor. The building sat vacant for several years, sparking speculation about redevelopment. With Targetโ€™s arrival, the property is once again a focal point of local commerce.
