Costco Business Center Set to Open at Former RONA Site in Mississauga

Mississauga will soon welcome its first Costco Business Center. The company has confirmed an October 2025 opening at 3115 Argentia Road, a property that has stood vacant for years after once housing a RONA Home & Garden.

Construction

Costco lists the Argentia Road location on its official new openings page, identifying it as a Business Center rather than a standard warehouse. The building is being repurposed from a former RONA store that had already lost its signage by 2015, as shown in Google Street View imagery. Business Centers serve restaurants, small businesses, and convenience operators with commercial-grade supplies and bulk packaging not usually found in regular Costco warehouses.

In 2009, the site at 3115 Argentia Road was still operating as a RONA Home & Garden. The store featured the chain’s signature yellow-and-black signage, a large garden center, and a busy parking lot serving the Meadowvale retail district.

Site Background

The Argentia Road property operated for years as a RONA Home & Garden. Community posts from 2012 mention “we’re moving!!” posters inside the store, suggesting it was preparing to close at that time (Hawthorne Villager forum). By 2015, imagery shows the building already vacant and stripped of its branding. Since then, it has remained idle until Costco announced its redevelopment plans.

Location

The site is located near Winston Churchill Boulevard in the Meadowvale SmartCentres retail district, a busy node in northwest Mississauga. Major retailers anchor the area and has easy highway access, making it a practical choice for a Costco Business Center that depends on frequent trips from small businesses and delivery operators. The project will bring new activity to a long-unused property while adding a new retail format to the city.
