Construction details
The redevelopment centers on the former Winn-Dixie building. Aldi’s official site still lists the Bushnell location as “coming soon” without a confirmed opening date. Google’s business listing shows September 17, 2025, as the planned opening day, though this has not been posted on Aldi’s own site. Job postings also note that employee training will take place at other stores until Bushnell is fully operational.
Historic aerials highlight the site’s evolution. In 1995, the land was still open, with no visible development. By 1999, the supermarket structure and shopping center footprint had already taken shape, marking the arrival of large-scale retail development in this part of Bushnell.
Adding to the present-day confusion, Google Maps currently places the Aldi pin in an empty field west of the site. In reality, the project is tied to the Marketplace shopping center, where the old Winn-Dixie operated for years.
