A new drive-thru coffee shop is planned in Rio Grande City, with construction expected to start in January 2026 and wrap up by April 2026. The 541-square-foot building will use a pre-fabricated stand designed for drive-thru service only.
Construction
The project will bring a small-format, drive-thru-only coffee stand to Rio Grande City. The planned structure is 541 square feet and will be built using a pre-fabricated design. Work is scheduled to begin in January 2026 and finish by April 2026.
Location
The new coffee stand will be located along the main highway corridor in Rio Grande City, the city’s primary commercial route through Starr County. This stretch is home to major retailers and restaurants and connects Rio Grande City to other towns across the Valley. The exact parcel has not yet been identified in public filings.
Company Background
The coffee shop will be part of the 7 Brew Coffee brand, which started in Rogers, Arkansas. Known for compact double-lane stands, the company serves coffee, teas, flavored sodas, shakes, and its own “7 Energy” drinks. As of early 2025, the brand operated more than 330 locations nationwide, including sites in Pharr and Edinburg.
