This article is an update to our original coverage of Cinemark’s planned Gamescape entertainment complex at the KB Krossing development in Greenville. Designed as a large, all-in-one destination, the project will combine eight movie auditoriums—including two large-format “XD” screens—with bowling lanes, arcade attractions, and restaurant space.
State filings outline a projected construction start in early 2025 and a target completion before the end of the year, but those dates are best seen as planning markers rather than guarantees. Cinemark has not announced an opening date, and the Greenville location does not yet appear on the company’s official Gamescape launch schedule.
A Prime Spot Within KB Krossing
The future theater site sits just behind Texas Roadhouse, along the I-30 frontage road between Sayle Street and Monty Stratton Parkway. It is surrounded by a growing mix of national restaurants, big-box retail, and new infrastructure that has steadily transformed the area over the last two decades.
The most recent clear aerial imagery, captured in May 2024, shows the parcel as open ground within the broader KB Krossing layout. Roads and grading were already in place at that time, with completed and under-construction retail pads nearby.
Filling a Local Gap
When the Majestic 12 Theatre on Joe Ramsey Boulevard closed in May 2025, Greenville lost its only multiplex. The Gamescape complex would restore a large-screen cinema to the city while adding entertainment options not previously available in one location. City incentive agreements include infrastructure improvements and sales tax rebates tied to project completion, with terms extending into 2026.
