New Fatburger Planned for This Fort Worth Location

A new Fatburger could be coming to Fort Worth, according to a Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filing. The restaurant is planned for 8933 Lower Sonoma Lane, near the Target-anchored Presidio Towne Crossing in North Fort Worth. The site sits just off U.S. Route 287 and was mostly undeveloped grassland in early 2000s aerials.

In 2001, the Presidio Towne Crossing area was mostly undeveloped land as seen in this clear Google Earth image.

The filing, submitted in April 2024, outlined plans for a 2,400-square-foot building with a patio and drive-thru. It listed an estimated completion date of October 2024, but as of July 2025, there’s still no visible construction or confirmed opening timeline.

Fast forward 22 years, and the difference is striking. The area now has more roads, commercial buildings, and a huge shopping center anchored by a super Target. The new Fatburger will be somewhere along the highlighted Lower Sonoma Lane.

Not far from here, Fatburger opened its first Texas location in North Richland Hills. The chain, founded in 1947, now operates several DFW-area locations—including a new one inside the DFW Airport employee cafeteria.
