New Home Depot Joins Booming Development East of Austin, Texas

A new Home Depot is officially underway in Manor, Texas. The 135,000-square-foot store will anchor the massive Manor Crossing development, a 95-acre mixed-use project at the northwest corner of US Highway 290 and FM 973. Construction is progressing, with the store expected to open in late spring 2025.

The site joins a growing list of retailers aiming to serve the region’s fast-expanding population. With Manor’s population increasing nearly 38% from 2020 to 2023, the demand for major retail options has grown just as rapidly. According to The Real Deal and KVUE, Home Depot will share the center with a 110,000-square-foot H-E-B and national chains such as T.J. Maxx, Burlington, and Planet Fitness.

More Than Just Tools and Lumber

Manor Crossing is set to become a central hub for shopping and dining in the area. The development includes 16 retail lots and over 600 planned multifamily housing units. Alongside Home Depot and H-E-B, shoppers can expect to find Five Below, Dollar Tree, Rack Room Shoes, Mattress Firm, and more.

Food options will be plentiful, with names like Chick-fil-A, Panera Bread, Chili’s, Jersey Mike’s, and Einstein Bros. Bagels already in the lineup. These additions will support both existing neighborhoods and the hundreds of new homes planned nearby.

The commercial corridor around US 290 has already seen major improvements, and Manor Crossing is now shaping the area into a fully modern suburban commercial district.

From Farmland to Major Destination

Historical imagery from 1995 shows the site as open farmland with only a few scattered structures. By 2003, the area remained largely rural with no major commercial development. But by 2023, aerial views show active grading, roads being cut, and major groundwork underway across the entire footprint of Manor Crossing.

Once fully developed, the site will look dramatically different from its agricultural roots. Home Depot’s arrival marks one of the most significant additions yet and cements Manor’s place as a key growth node northeast of Austin.
