A Discount Tire location is being planned for Celina, Texas, according to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. The project would bring a new 9,800-square-foot facility to 4400 S. Preston Rd., just north of East Frontier Parkway along State Highway 289.
Construction is expected to begin in August 2025 and wrap up by March 2026. The plans include a new commercial building with an interior build-out and upgraded site and parking. This is a filing and not an official announcement from Discount Tire.
Rapid Development at a Formerly Rural Site
The lot sits on the east side of Preston Road, near McDonald’s, Whataburger, and Ideal Dental. Aerial imagery from 2005 shows the area was mostly open land with scattered homes and farmland. By 2024, suburban growth had filled in much of the space with retail centers, neighborhoods, and cleared lots.
The site at 4400 S. Preston Rd. has already been graded, signaling continued development momentum in southern Celina. The area is part of a fast-growing commercial corridor in Collin County.
