Construction is now underway on a $100 million casino and hotel in Coweta, Oklahoma. The project is led by Muscogee Nation Gaming Enterprises and sits near East 131st Street South and Highway 51. Once complete, the facility will span 104,000 square feet and feature both entertainment and overnight accommodations. The hotel will include 46 rooms, a fitness center, a pool, and a meeting space that can hold up to 150 guests. Completion is scheduled for spring 2026.
Casino and hotel features outlined in new plans
The casino will cover 35,000 square feet and include around 750 gaming machines. A full-service restaurant and an event space are also planned. Developers expect the project to create at least 250 permanent jobs. The construction phase is estimated to generate $100 million in economic activity. Once open, the property could bring in $50 million annually for the local economy. While some residents have voiced concerns about traffic and development pressure, officials say the scale will remain smaller than major regional casinos.
The area’s history and how it’s now transforming
The casino site at 28309 East 131st Street South was once open land bordered by fields and a nearby rail line. Aerial imagery shows the area transitioning from undeveloped space into a structured work zone. Coweta’s northwest side has remained relatively quiet over the years, with commercial growth focused elsewhere. That’s now changing. The site offers direct access to Highway 51 and sits near expanding residential areas. With construction underway, this corner of Coweta is poised to become a new commercial hub.
