A New Las Vegas Resort: Awaiting Construction On The Strip

The Las Vegas Strip, a global hotspot for luxury and entertainment, is set to host Tilman Fertitta’s highly anticipated 43-story resort. This ambitious project promises to bring unparalleled opulence with over 2,400 rooms, a 2,500-seat theater, world-class dining options, and state-of-the-art amenities. Recent developments signal significant progress, but construction is yet to begin.

Current Status

As of November 2024, all buildings at the site have been demolished. Street View images from the same month reveal the entire area is now fenced off, signaling the project’s preparation phase. Fertitta Entertainment has filed multiple permits with Clark County since early 2023, but these remain under review. Despite visible site clearing, no official construction had began.

A Glimpse into the Past

The site has undergone significant transformations over the decades:

1950s: The area was undeveloped, with Las Vegas’s population centered downtown.

1960s: A hotel opened on the site, which later became the Travelodge Hotel, operational until 2022.

1997: The Harley-Davidson Café brought a lively atmosphere to the northern end, operating until 2016.

2020: Tex Mex Tequila Bar & Grill replaced the café, becoming the site’s last major development before Fertitta’s acquisition.

The Vision

Once completed, the resort promises to deliver a blend of luxury and entertainment. Plans include:

A 2,420-room hotel.

A 2,500-seat theater for live performances.

Multiple fine dining restaurants.

Convention spaces, a spa, and a wedding chapel.

While Fertitta Entertainment has yet to announce a construction timeline, the cleared site indicates readiness for the next stage.

By the 1960s a hotel had been built on the site. Part of the hotel was a Travelodge Hotel before being closed in 2022.
