Taco Casa fans in Watauga didn’t get a new location—they got a better one. On May 3, 2025, the popular Tex-Mex chain officially opened its new and improved restaurant at 6420 Watauga Road, just across the street from its previous spot. The move wasn’t far, but it marks a major upgrade in size, appearance, and functionality.
From Across the Street to a Fresh Start
If you’ve driven along Watauga Road in the past few years, you’ve likely seen Taco Casa at 6441 Watauga Road. That building served the community for years, but by early 2025, the company had shifted operations across the street into a brand-new structure. Satellite imagery from March 4, 2025, clearly shows both buildings standing—one completed and the other still operating or being phased out.
The new site at 6420 Watauga Rd includes a fresh interior layout, modern drive-thru setup, and updated customer seating. It’s visibly larger than the older facility and features more convenient parking access.
Customer Reactions and Experience
Early reviews of the relocated Taco Casa are largely positive. Customers mention improved service flow, better food presentation, and faster drive-thru times. One review summed it up as, “Great new location—technically just moved across the street, but everything’s brand new and the team hasn’t missed a beat.”
The company hosted a soft opening event the morning of May 3, with giveaways and community engagement. It’s clear Taco Casa isn’t just maintaining its local presence—it’s doubling down.
