Historic H-E-B in Austin Transforms: A New Era Begins Soon

The oldest H-E-B store in Austin, Texas, located at the corner of South Congress and Oltorf Street, was demolished to make way for a larger, more modern H-E-B. Originally opened in 1957, the store began as a 25,000-square-foot space. After numerous remodels, it expanded to about 65,000 square feet.
