In June of 2021, H-E-B supermarket chain announced a third Metroplex location opening soon in McKinney, Texas. According to the company’s website, the new location will be located on the northeast corner of Custer Road and Eldorado Parkway. Rowlett Creek runs through the location which has not had any commercial development until now. The other two locations are currently under construction in Frisco and Plano.

In the 2000 census McKinney had a population of 54,369. 20 years later the city has a population of approximately 214,035.
