This Closed Dillards Will Be Provo’s New Target

Provo Towne Centre in Provo, Utah will add Target as one of the mall’s anchors. The new Target will use the closed 135,000-square-foot Dillards space in the southern part of the mall. Dillards closed this location in 2020 and moved it to University Mall in Orem, Utah. According to Utah’s Daily Herald, the building had already had some improvements done and a larger elevator will be added. The store will utilize the entire top level and use the first level for storage.

Provo Town Centre is owned by Brixton Capital, a California-based real estate company that purchased the mall in 2016. The 664,597-square-foot mall was opened in 1998. Currently, JC Penney is the only department store anchor still open. The new Target is expected to open in 2024.

Target is the eighth largest retailer in the United States with over 1,948 locations in North America. The first Target opened in Roseville, Minnesota back in 1962.
