The Exchange at Indian Land is bringing a big addition this fall. Costco’s newest South Carolina warehouse will open on October 30, 2025, just off Highway 521 in Lancaster County. The project has been underway for more than a year. Now it’s in the final stretch before welcoming members.
Construction Progress
The new warehouse is part of The Exchange at Indian Land, a mixed-use development with a proposed Lowe’s and several outparcels. SEI Construction is leading the build. Historic satellite views highlight the site’s transformation. In the early 2000s, it was dense woodland. By 2025, the land was cleared, graded, and prepared for retail growth.
Location and Development
Costco’s footprint sits on the south side of the center, right along US Highway 521. This corridor has seen rapid growth as Charlotte expands south. The development stretches north with space for big-box retail, restaurants, auto services, and smaller shops. Its location creates easy access for Lancaster County residents. At the same time, it captures commuters traveling from south Charlotte into the area.
Costco’s Expansion
This warehouse will be Costco’s newest in the Carolinas. It continues the company’s push into fast-growing metro areas. Members in Indian Land will find bulk groceries, household goods, fuel, and services. The chain’s steady expansion across the Southeast makes this opening a natural step. With the October 30 grand opening confirmed, the countdown is already underway.
