New Northern York County, Pennsylvania ALDI Nears Completion

The new ALDI at 1350 Gettysburg Pike in Carroll Township was expected to open this summer, according to the township’s spring–summer newsletter. While the store is now listed on ALDI’s website, it has not yet been added to their dedicated Grand Openings page—meaning there’s no confirmed date, event details, or promotional information available.

Hiring is already underway. ALDI’s careers page shows active listings for both a full-time store associate and a part-time cashier/stocker at this location. These postings confirm that staffing is in progress ahead of the launch.

Construction has been steady, with builder ECI Construction sharing a timelapse video earlier this year and photos in June showing the structure and lot well underway.

From Farmland to Grocery Store

Aerial imagery from April 1992 shows the site as farmland with a tree along the road and a pond to the north. Development gradually filled in the surrounding area, with neighborhoods and apartments taking shape over the years. By October 2023, the lot remained grassy and undeveloped despite the changes around it.

That status changed when work began on the new ALDI, marking the end of decades without development on this stretch of Gettysburg Pike.

What’s Next

The store remains in the “coming soon” stage with no official opening date. Once ALDI adds the location to their grand openings list, an announcement will likely include event details and any planned giveaways. Until then, all signs point to the project being close to completion.
