A Sky Zone trampoline park is set to open at 5050 W Waco Drive, a building previously occupied by Burlington. According to a filing with TDLR, construction will begin in August 2025 and is expected to finish by February 2026. The project covers 45,000 square feet and includes new recreation areas, a café, a kitchen, and party rooms.
Former retail building to undergo full renovation
The building was constructed in 1987, based on property listings from LoopNet. It previously housed multiple tenants and most recently operated as a Burlington retail store. The Burlington location has since closed, and the property is now listed as a former Burlington space available for lease.
The project summary on TDLR confirms a $1.25 million interior renovation. The space will be repurposed for active recreation use under the Sky Zone brand.
Historical land use and development timeline
Historic aerial images from HistoricAerials.com show that the area remained undeveloped until the early 1980s. By 1995, the current building footprint was visible. This development occurred during a broader commercial expansion along Waco Drive. The site is located across from Richland Mall and adjacent to other retail buildings constructed during the same period.
Sky Zone expansion continues in Texas
Sky Zone is a national chain of indoor trampoline parks that include jump courts, obstacle courses, foam pits, and sport courts. It operates under CircusTrix Holdings, which also manages other active entertainment brands. Facilities are designed for group events and general walk-in traffic, often located in former big-box retail buildings.
