Costcoโs new location at Stacy Road and SH-121 in Allen, Texas, is still taking shape. Satellite imagery from March 2025 shows the massive foundation poured and the surrounding lot partially gradedโbut at that point, no walls or roof had been erected.
That was three months ago. Based on Costcoโs typical build pace, the steel frame and exterior shell may now be up, though no current imagery or announcements confirm it. The store does not yet appear on Costcoโs official New Locations page. The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation continues to list June 30, 2025, as the estimated completion date.
From Pastures to Pallets
In 2001, this corner of Collin County was still ruralโopen farmland, scattered trees, and a modest structure near a dirt access road. Fast-forward two decades, and itโs now on the brink of becoming a regional retail hub. The land that once grew crops will soon offer carts, concrete, and Costco carts lined up at the pumps.

The silence of tractors has been replaced by the hum of forkliftsโand eventually, flat-screen TVs on flatbed carts.

What the Site Plan Confirms
A development plan outlines the full build:
- 160,529 sq ft Costco warehouse
- Fuel station along the southern boundary
- A future retail outlot labeled โOutlot 1โ
- Entrances from both Stacy Road and Meandering Way
- A dedicated truck route with a rear loading dock screened from nearby homes
Construction may have started slow, but Allenโs first Costco is well on its way. Now itโs just a matter of when the doorsโand those iconic garage-style entrancesโwill finally open.
