A new 18,000-square-foot building is planned for 8020 E 56th Street, and signs point to Harbor Freight Tools as the primary tenant. According to a state filing, construction is set to begin in July 2025 and wrap up by January 2026.
The project is described as a mercantile vanilla shell, which typically means the space will be delivered with basic interior finishes for future buildout. Although the site is listed with “Shell” in the name, there’s no confirmation yet of a gas station—just that Harbor Freight is likely anchoring the site.
Prime Location Along the 191 Corridor
The new building will be situated just west of the Cinergy Odessa complex and south of Castlegate Lane, placing it near Starbucks, Taco Villa, and other retail establishments in this fast-growing area of Ector County. The area has become a hub for commercial growth, especially around Faudree Road.
Once complete, the new location would give Harbor Freight an additional footprint in Odessa, complementing their existing store on Andrews Highway.
