Crunch Fitness is preparing to open a large facility at 8530 Benbrook Blvd. The project calls for over 40,000 square feet of new construction. Work is set to begin in September 2025 and wrap up by October 2026. This information comes from the official TDLR filing.
Current State of the Site
The land is still undeveloped. A Google Street View image from March 2025 shows overgrown brush, trash, and trees. It sits just south of Vista Way and close to Raising Cane’s.
The site spans nearly five acres. It is part of a larger plan under review by the city. The Benbrook Planning & Zoning Commission reviewed a request in May 2025 to finalize the plat and approve the site design. The plan includes 256 parking spots, tree clearing, and a replanting effort that doubles the required replacement inches.
A Prime Spot Along a Growing Corridor
Once built, Crunch Fitness will sit alongside businesses like Chick-fil-A, Public Storage, and Integrity Urgent Care. Its proximity to I-20 and Loop 820 gives it strong visibility and easy access for commuters and locals alike.
This area has seen steady retail and medical growth over the past few years. The new gym adds another anchor to the mix, serving both new residents and existing neighborhoods.
