A new Dairy Queen may be headed to Cedar Hill. A recent filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation outlines plans for a 1,930-square-foot restaurant with a drive-thru at 848 E Belt Line Road, just east of the Walmart Neighborhood Market. The project is scheduled to begin construction in June 2025 and wrap by January 2026, pending permitting and final approvals. But what’s currently on the site? Is anything being demolished?
Location History
Although the listed address is tied to the NTB Tire & Service Centers, the Dairy Queen appears to be planned for the vacant lot next to NTB, within the same shopping center. A “For Sale” sign was still visible on the site as recently as January 2025, based on current site imagery. That space has remained undeveloped for years, despite being positioned in a busy retail corridor with Walmart, gas stations, and various food and service businesses nearby. There’s no indication that NTB is closing, which supports the idea of new construction on the adjacent parcel.
