In-N-Out Burger is Opening its First Washington location in Ridgefield: This is The Site

The long-anticipated In-N-Out Burger in Ridgefield is taking shape at the southeast corner of a new roundabout in the Union Ridge Town Center. Located just off Interstate 5, this will be the northernmost In-N-Out location in the U.S. While the company has not announced an official opening date, local expectations point to a launch between mid-June and mid-July 2025. Construction of the buildingโ€™s wooden frame is already underway.

The future In-N-Out site in Ridgefield was still farmland in 1990, with only rural structures and open fields near I-5.

How the Area Has Changed Since the ’90s

In 1990, the site was still rural farmland, with only a few scattered structures along the old road that led toward I-5. Over the years, commercial development has transformed the entire area. The most noticeable addition is the massive Costco warehouse to the northwest, completed in recent years. By 2024, the new roundabout and surrounding roads had been paved, with In-N-Outโ€™s site showing active construction and adjacent lots prepared for future tenants.

By 2024, the area was fully developed with new roads, a large retail anchor, and active construction on the In-N-Out parcel just south of the roundabout.

A New Market for the California-Based Chain

Ridgefield marks a major milestone for In-N-Outโ€™s northward expansion. The project was first approved by city leaders in August 2023 as part of a broader development plan for Union Ridge. With typical construction timelines for In-N-Out ranging from eight to nine months, the current pace suggests a summer 2025 opening. The locationโ€™s proximity to I-5 makes it ideal for both residents and travelers moving between Portland and Seattle.
