A Massive New Target Store Is Opening Soon in Indian Land, South Carolina

A new Target store is under construction in Indian Land, South Carolina, inside the large CrossRidge Center development. Located at 5345 Crossridge Blvd, the 148,000-square-foot store is officially listed on Target’s website. Although an exact opening date hasn’t been confirmed, it’s expected to open soon. CrossRidge Center began phased openings in 2024, and Target will follow.

The store is part of a $150 million retail project within a 190-acre development. Once complete, the area will offer a mix of retail, dining, office, and community space. It’s designed to serve the fast-growing region along the South Carolina–North Carolina border.

From Wooded Land to Major Development

In the 1990s, this site was covered in forest. Only a few homes and rural parcels dotted the land. By 2011, commercial expansion had started near the top of the site. In 2017, the forest was cleared to prepare for major construction. Roads, pads, and underground work followed quickly.

Now the site features paved roads like Crossridge Blvd, Worldreach Drive, and Parkway Drive. A full road grid and utilities support a mix of new buildings, anchored by Target. The surrounding land includes a YMCA, office space, and additional commercial pads still under development.

What Else Is Coming to CrossRidge Center?

CrossRidge Center is a 190-acre mixed-use project designed to serve a wide range of needs. Here’s what’s planned or already complete:

This project adds significant retail capacity and modern infrastructure to Indian Land. It’s also expected to boost the local economy and attract more visitors from surrounding areas.
