The landscape around the intersection of Oakbend Drive and Rockbrook Drive in Lewisville, Texas, is about to undergo a significant transformation with the construction of the new residential community, Willows at Oakbend. Situated at 333 E. Uecker Lane, this development will span a total of 345,648 square feet, according to TDLR filings. Construction will begin in December 2024, with an anticipated completion by the end of 2025.
The Willows at Oakbend project will rise on what was once open, rural land. One of the oldest aerial images of the location from 1958 shows a vast, undeveloped area, with only a few scattered structures and thick tree cover. This early snapshot captures a time when the area was far removed from the urbanization that now defines the region. The once open countryside gradually changed, as aerial images from 2001 reveal the beginnings of development, though the land was still largely green with some homes and trees. By the present day, new roads, housing complexes, and commercial buildings have surrounded the intersection of Oakbend Drive and Rockbrook Drive, preparing the land for the upcoming residential project.
This project joins a growing number of residential developments that cater to an ever-increasing population drawn to the city’s proximity to Dallas and its continually improving amenities.
