New QuikTrip is Coming to This Houston Corner

A new QuikTrip will soon occupy the southwest corner of Farm to Market 1960 Road and Jones Road in Houston, Texas. The latest aerial images show a Capital One building from 2005, which replaced a smaller commercial building from the 1980s. Before Houston’s urban sprawl, this area was farmland.

The new QuikTrip will be 7,387 square feet. According to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, construction will be complete by June 2025. QuikTrip’s concept was inspired by 7-Eleven founder Burt Holmes while driving through Dallas in the 1950s. The first QuikTrip store opened in a Tulsa strip mall in 1958. Today, the company boasts over 1,005 stores, primarily in the Midwest, South, and West of the United States.
