Developers are creating a new apartment complex in Fort Worth at East Northside Drive and Cold Springs Road, near the Shelby at Northside apartment complex. Named Fort Worth Northside, the project will rise adjacent to the West Fork Trinity River. The development will feature four-story apartment buildings with modern amenities, including a pool courtyard, clubhouse, business center, and resident lounge, according to TDLR filings.
Historical aerial images from the 1950s reveal that oil tanks once occupied this site. The Union Pacific Railroad Choctaw Subdivision rail track, which cuts through the area, is likely the oldest infrastructure in the vicinity. In the early 1950s, Cold Springs Road extended across the river, which crews were dredging at the time. There was a bridge over the river, but the Northside Drive bridge replaced it within the same decade.
The expected completion date for the Fort Worth Northside project is August 2026.
