A new apartment complex will be built on, Reed Road the western end of San Antonio, Texas. The new complex will have 56 residential units and a total of 75,759 square feet according to the TDLR website. The location is in the Timber Ridge Community and the name for the project is Vista Reed Apartments. Just north of the site is Carlos Coon Elementary School. The complex is expected to be complete some time in 2025.
There are historical images of the area going back to 1955 on Historicalaerials.com. In those days San Antonio’s urban sprawl had not reached the area. None of the nearby major highways had been built. In the early 1960s, Interstate appears to the east and Texas State Highway 151 cut through the area to the south of the upcoming apartment complex in the 1980s. Carlos Coon Elementary School was also built in the same decade.
