H Mart to Open This New Supermarket in the DFW Area

Construction is moving quickly on a new H Mart supermarket in Haltom City. First announced in 2024, the project represents one of the largest retail builds in this part of Tarrant County in decades, bringing a major shopping destination to the Interstate 820 corridor.

The 42,500-square-foot H Mart will anchor a 200,000-square-foot shopping center covering 16 acres at 5000 N Beach Street. Developers expect to deliver the retail shells in August 2025, with the supermarket tentatively slated to open in December 2025. According to the Fort Worth Report, the project is already 88% leased, with more than 30 restaurants and specialty retailers lined up.

Construction Progress

Aerial imagery from early 2025 shows the site in its late stages, with building shells finished, parking lots paved, and infrastructure like driveways and curbs in place. While work continues on interiors and landscaping, the scale of the project is already evident along Interstate 820.

The site broke ground in 2024 after years of sitting vacant. By January 2025, the foundation work was completed, and by mid-year, H Mart and other tenants were preparing for build-out phases.

Location and Context

The development sits at the southeast corner of Beach Street and Interstate 820. Older imagery from 2001 shows the lot as untouched grassland, despite nearby commercial growth. Two decades later, it is becoming one of Haltom City’s most prominent shopping destinations.
