In 2025, Hobby Lobby plans to open a new store at 8005 Park Lane in Dallas, Texas. This location, previously occupied by Bed Bath & Beyond, is part of Caruth Plaza, situated at the northeast corner of Park Lane and US Route 75, near NorthPark Center.

Historical Evolution of Caruth Plaza
Caruth Plaza’s history reflects Dallas’s dynamic growth. Established in the 1970s, the shopping center has adapted to the city’s evolving retail landscape. Originally housing various retailers, it has seen tenants come and go, mirroring broader economic trends. The forthcoming Hobby Lobby store exemplifies this ongoing transformation, repurposing the former Bed Bath & Beyond space to meet current consumer demands.

The Caruth Family Legacy
The Caruth family, early Dallas pioneers, significantly influenced the area’s development. In 1848, William Barr Caruth established a homestead that eventually expanded to 30,000 acres, encompassing much of present-day North Dallas.
Their land holdings included areas now known as Highland Park, University Park, and the site of NorthPark Center. The Caruth Homeplace, an impressive plantation home from the 1800s, still stands within the Caruth Homeplace townhomes addition, serving as a tangible link to the city’s rich history.
