Earlier this year we covered the construction of a new Target store planned for the Arcola Center area. Now it’s fully open, so this update takes a look at how the store is doing, what the site looks like today, and how the community is responding so far.
Construction and Opening
The building went up quickly on the south side of Arcola Landing Drive, replacing a large dirt pad visible in early 2024 imagery. By October 2025 the structure, parking lot, and landscaping were complete. The store opened on October 8, a few days earlier than originally expected. It’s a large-format layout with a full grocery section, drive-up lanes, and the newer Target interior design that rolled out over the last year.
Location and Site Changes
This location sits at 24670 Arcola Landing Drive, next to the huge Amazon facility that has dominated the area for the past few years. The wider development has been filling in as new roads and pads come online. The difference between the 2024 and 2025 aerials is sharp, with the Target site shifting from rough grading to a finished retail anchor inside eighteen months.
How It’s Doing After a Month
Shoppers have started leaving feedback, and the early numbers are solid. Google shows the store at a 4.4 rating from 56 reviews, which is strong for a location this new. Most comments highlight clean aisles, organized shelves, and helpful employees. It lines up with what other Target stores in the region usually get praised for.
There are still some familiar complaints from nearby locations about long checkout lines during busy periods, but nothing unusual has been reported yet for this store. With the updated layout, wider lanes, and drive-up service, early visitors seem satisfied with the experience. The long weekday and weekend hours help spread out foot traffic as well.
