When we first covered the Staybridge Suites in Grand Prairie in June 2021, the hotel was finishing construction along Lake Ridge Parkway near the George Bush Turnpike. Back then, the bright green sheathing stood out as the building took shape just south of the new IKEA. Three years later, the hotel is fully operational, and we can now see how it measures up with guests.
Guest Impressions So Far
The Staybridge Suites has built a reputation as a reliable extended-stay option, with an overall 4.3-star rating from more than 300 reviews. Guests frequently highlight the spacious rooms, well-stocked kitchenettes, and comfortable beds. Many also point to the complimentary breakfast as a strong point, with options that go beyond the basics. Several reviews praise the friendliness of the staff and the overall cleanliness of the property.
Notable guest comments include:
- “Beds were very comfortable … WiFi speed was fast.”
- “Breakfast was delicious and the staff made our stay easy.”
- “Clean, comfortable, and very roomy … the breakfast was amazing.”
Areas of Criticism
Not all feedback is glowing. A handful of reviewers mentioned slow service during busy times and limited parking when the hotel is at capacity. Some also noted issues with housekeeping or noise. A few guests raised concerns about security in the parking lot, citing incidents of car break-ins. One negative review even reported finding a dead cockroach in their room, though that appears to be an isolated case.
These critiques are worth keeping in mind, but the majority of reviews lean positive, especially for families and business travelers seeking longer stays.

Location and Transformation
The hotel’s location remains one of its strongest advantages. Sitting less than 10 miles from AT&T Stadium, Globe Life Field, and Six Flags Over Texas, it offers a convenient base for both leisure and business. Unlike some hotels in busier commercial zones, this one is tucked into a quieter residential-style development, balancing accessibility with a calmer environment.
Looking back at our 2020 construction coverage, the transformation from a scaffolded shell to a finished hotel reflects the rapid growth of this corner of Grand Prairie. What was once bare framing has become a functioning piece of the city’s hospitality landscape.
