A New Home Depot is Coming to Leander, Texas: This is The Location

Construction of the future Home Depot store in Leander is moving fast, with the city projecting a spring 2026 opening. The store is rising on the northwest corner of Hero Way and the 183A Toll Frontage Road. This corridor keeps attracting large retail projects as Leander’s population continues to grow.

Construction Progress

The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filing listed completion for September 2025. However, the City of Leander later confirmed that the public opening will take place in spring 2026. By September 2025, aerial imagery showed the main structure enclosed. Parking areas were paved, and crews worked on access roads along Hero Way.

The 145,000-square-foot building ranks among the largest retail additions in northern Williamson County. It is part of a city-approved plan that includes shared road and drainage improvements with Austin Community College. As a result, site work and road construction continue in parallel.

Location and Site

The store sits west of 183A and south of Hero Way, near new retail and restaurant projects. In addition, Williamson County records now list Home Depot U.S.A. Inc. as the official property owner. This confirms full control of the parcel. The tracts surrounding the main site are being marketed for new pads, showing that development around the 183A corridor is still expanding.

The city issued traffic notices in October 2025 for lane reductions near the site. That confirms active construction and aligns with the revised 2026 timeline. Meanwhile, the project’s scale continues to draw attention from both residents and nearby businesses.

The Company

Home Depot, based in Atlanta, operates more than 2,000 stores across North America. It continues to grow in Central Texas, adding stores in suburbs north of Austin. The new Leander location fills a gap between existing stores in Cedar Park and Liberty Hill. Therefore, residents in the area will gain a closer option for tools, lumber, and home improvement supplies.

The company has not announced a specific opening day or hiring schedule. Updates are expected early next year as the project nears completion.
