A new restaurant and bar is planned for downtown Burleson, according to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. The project, called Capone’s Hideout, will rise at 136 W Bufford St. The filing sets construction to begin in December 2025 and lists completion for December 2026. This addition aims to strengthen the city’s already busy dining district.
Construction Details
Capone’s Hideout will measure 2,125 square feet and function as both a restaurant and a bar. The filing confirms private funding on private land. While project dates often shift, the plan shows a clear intent to transform the vacant lot into a new nightlife spot.
Location Context
The site sits on W Bufford St, just off Main Street in the heart of downtown Burleson. Today, the lot is empty. Only a small shed remained on the property as of spring 2025. Meanwhile, the surroundings are thriving. Nearby businesses include Razzoo’s Cajun Cafe, Babe’s Chicken Dinner House, Old Texas Brewing Company, and Lone Star Bar & Grill. As a result, Capone’s Hideout will enter a cluster already known for food and nightlife.
Site History
Historic aerials reveal how the property evolved over time. In 1938, the block held small homes and open lots. By 1963, larger commercial buildings filled the site, marking a shift from residential to business use. In recent years, demolition cleared the land. Today, it stands vacant and ready for redevelopment. Therefore, Capone’s Hideout will continue the long cycle of change along W Bufford Street.
