Construction wrapped up on the Chick-fil-A at 2525 North Belt Line Road back in 2022, and we first covered it as the restaurant prepared to open in the old Sears parking lot. Now we’re circling back to see how this spot has been doing since the move from its smaller site just up the road.

Construction and Opening Background
The new Chick-fil-A sits on the east end of Irving Mall, replacing what was once a section of the Sears property. The build was designed to handle more traffic than the former location, which often clogged Belt Line Road with long lines. With extra parking and a modern dual-lane drive-thru, the goal was to keep service moving smoothly.
How Customers Rate It Today
The food hasn’t slipped — reviews still highlight hot sandwiches, crispy nuggets, and the usual Chick-fil-A consistency. Many customers also point to friendly staff when things are running on schedule. But the bigger space hasn’t eliminated wait times. Yelp and Wanderlog users call this “the slowest Chick-fil-A,” and delivery platforms like Grubhub include reports of missing sauces or items. Google still shows a strong 4.4-star average across nearly 4,000 reviews, but complaints about speed and accuracy come up often.

Location and Ongoing Challenges
Relocating less than 500 yards south did fix the worst of the old traffic snarls, keeping cars out of Belt Line Road lanes. The restaurant is easier to access, sitting alongside other mall tenants and plenty of parking. Still, the crowds haven’t thinned. The new drive-thru and bigger footprint were built for volume, but during busy hours, waits can still be long.

This revisit shows that Irving’s Chick-fil-A gained more breathing room but not necessarily faster service. The food remains a safe bet, but patience is part of the package. We’ll keep watching to see if the restaurant manages to balance its popularity with speed over time.
