8. Connor Wong (b. 1996)
Wong plays catcher for the Boston Red Sox after being drafted in 2017. Though born in Houston, he was raised in Pearland and attended Pearland High School, where he starred as both a pitcher and catcher. He continued at the University of Houston before breaking into the major leagues with strong defensive skills and increasing consistency at the plate.
