Sprouts Farmers Market is getting ready to open its newest location in Deerfield Beach, Florida, at 3701 W Hillsboro Blvd Ste B. The official opening is scheduled for May 23, 2025, bringing another fresh-food option to a bustling retail corridor. This will be Sprouts’ second location in the city and its 55th store in Florida. It replaces a former Michaels crafts store, located just west of Powerline Road, and next door to an operating Ross Dress for Less.
Decades of Change on Hillsboro Boulevard
Back in 1940, this part of Deerfield Beach was mostly rural, with vast open land and few developed roads. By the 1980s, suburban growth began to shape the area. The shopping center at 3701 W Hillsboro was built in 1984, part of a growing commercial strip serving nearby neighborhoods.
Aerial photos from 1980 show the area just before development took off. By 1984, construction was underway, and the surrounding residential communities were rapidly expanding. The plaza later underwent a major renovation in 2009, adapting to modern retail needs.
For years, the building housed national retailers like Michaels, which eventually vacated the space now being transformed for Sprouts.
Opening Events and Nearby Neighbors
Sprouts’ grand opening will feature three days of celebrations, including early morning giveaways, sampling stations, scavenger hunts, and limited-time discounts. The first 200 customers each morning will receive a free reusable bag, while the first 400 on Friday will also get a long-stem rose.
Located next to Ross and across from brands like Target, Chick-fil-A, Panera Bread, and KFC, the new Sprouts is joining a high-traffic intersection known for retail convenience and daily foot traffic.
From farmland to neighborhood plaza to fresh grocery hub, the site at 3701 W Hillsboro continues to grow with Deerfield Beach.
