A Sprouts Farmers Market is expected to open in early 2026 at 4303 Kingwood Drive in Kingwood, Texas. The store will move into a 23,948-square-foot space at Kings Crossing, a shopping center that’s been serving the area since the mid-1980s.
The location is still not listed on the official Sprouts website, but state filings show that renovation work is scheduled to start in January and wrap up by February. The project will cost around $3.25 million and involve a full interior build-out of the existing retail space.
The Site Has Been Quiet, but That’s About to Change
The building Sprouts is moving into has been sitting vacant for some time. As of 2022, it still had a “For Lease” sign on the front. Now, plans are in place to bring it back to life as a new grocery anchor.
Kings Crossing sits at the center of one of Kingwood’s busiest commercial areas. It’s surrounded by shops, restaurants, and residential communities, with a creek running behind the property. Across the street are even more retail options, creating a steady flow of traffic on most days.

Decades of Change Along Kingwood Drive
Back in 1944, this part of Kingwood was all trees—no roads, no development. By the late 1970s, Kingwood Drive was in place and land was being cleared. The shopping center was built in 1985, and aerial images from 2002 show it fully developed, looking much like it does today.
Sprouts will move into one of the larger buildings in the complex, keeping the footprint the same but updating the interior. This continues the story of a shopping center that’s adapted over the years to meet the needs of its growing neighborhood.
