A new ALDI grocery store will open at 1925 South Clinton Avenue, Rochester, NY, on April 10, 2025. The location sits within the new Encore of Lac De Ville development. According to ALDI, the grand opening will feature giveaways and a $500 gift card sweepstakes.
The ribbon-cutting is scheduled for 8:30 a.m., 30 minutes before the store opens to the public.
From Wooded Lot to Rochester Retail
In 2002, the property was densely wooded. It sat between apartment complexes to the west and commercial plazas to the east. For decades, this parcel remained untouched, acting as a green buffer.
By 2023, site preparation began. Within two years, the land was cleared and active construction began. Aerial imagery from 2025 shows full build-out of parking, access roads, and tenant pads. This marks a major shift in land use along the South Clinton corridor.
The site’s location places it close to existing residential, retail, and medical facilities. This makes it a logical infill development in a well-trafficked area.
Overview of the Encore of Lac De Ville Project
The ALDI store will anchor the north side of the property. South of it, two building pads—measuring 8,000 sq ft and 4,500 sq ft—remain available for lease.
Tenants confirmed so far include:
- Rochester Integrated Medicine
- Vivo Infusion
- Jersey Mike’s Subs
- Starbucks (with drive-through service)
- Doodle Bugs! Children’s Learning Academy
On the east side of the site, a large medical office building is planned. It will offer suite options from 3,000 to 20,000 sq ft. Paved driveways now connect the site to S. Clinton Ave, with full access to traffic signals and nearby intersections.
