The southeast corner of Canyon Creek Drive and 31st Street in Temple, Texas, will soon host a new Brake Plus service facility, according to recent filings. The national auto service center will occupy approximately 4,900 square feet, with construction expected to be completed by June 2025.
This location holds a fascinating piece of local history, as aerial images dating back to the 1950s reveal. Sometime between 1964 and 1974, the site became home to a drive-in theater featuring two screens, which stretched across the area where the Canyon Creek Behavioral Clinic now stands. Even today, remnants of the old outdoor theater can be spotted in aerial views of the site.
Brake Plus is well-regarded not only for its brake services but also for a range of other automotive services, including transmission and air conditioning repair.
