Florida’s Keke’s Breakfast Cafe is expanding to Grand Prairie as part of the massive Epic Towne Crossing shopping center. It will be located directly behind the Grand Prairie IKEA in a recently built building. Keke’s is a popular Florida chain that serves breakfast and lunch. Founded in Orlando in 2006 by brothers Keith and Kevin Mahen. The name was derived from the first two letters of their names. This year, Keke’s will open four locations in the DFW Metroplex: Grand Prairie, Dallas, McKinney, and Fort Worth. The Grand Prairie location will be at 1020 Mayfield Road, Suite 620.

This is the first development at 1020 Mayfield Road. Historic aerial images going back as far as the 1930s show the area was farmland. In the 1970s when Grand Prairie’s urban sprawl reached the area. However, this exact location remained undeveloped until the late 2010s when construction for Epic Towne Crossing started. These images reveal the drastic transformation over the last 23 years. According to TDLR filings, the project is expected to be complete by November 2024.
