Publix Super Market at Shoppes at Beville Road reopened on June 29th. After a year-long hiatus, the store welcomed back its loyal customers with a bigger, better, and more modern shopping experience.
Last year, the original Publix store made way for a larger, more contemporary version when it was torn down. The new store, spanning 47,240 square feet, is a significant upgrade from the old 40,000 square feet store. The additional space has expanded grocery, dairy, frozen food, seafood, meat, and fresh produce departments. Shoppers now have a full-service bakery, deli, and pharmacy.
The new Shoppes at Beville Road store offers an additional 10,000 square feet of usable space. Relocation of two long-time tenants, Beville Salon and Frame & Photo Works, to other parts of the shopping center made this expansion possible.
Renovation also included improvements to the shopping center itself, such as repaving the parking lot, adding new landscaping, and installing a new sidewalk on the center’s west end. The estimated construction cost of the new Publix store was $4.7 million.
Publix at Shoppes at Beville Road Location History
Reviewing historical aerial images dating back to 1958, we observe that the strip mall emerged as the first major development on this site in 1986. The original Publix store was one of the first establishments to open in the shopping center. Over the years, it has served residents from as far away as downtown Daytona Beach and students from the nearby Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
