Residents of Euless will soon satisfy their craving for Southern-style fried chicken as the first Bojangles restaurant in Texas will open its doors. The restaurant is located on a narrow strip of land between Euless Boulevard and Texas 183. It is next to a recently built Quick Trip, Salad and Go, and Tommy’s Express Car Wash. Construction of the restaurant is now complete.
Bojangles is a popular North Carolina fast-food chain that was founded in 1977. The name was inspired by a song performed by the famous entertainer, Shirley Temple. Since then, Bojangles has been expanding its reach across the southeastern United States, and now has more than 700 locations across 14 states. Bojangles has been purchased by different companies over the years and is currently owned by the Jordan Company and Durational Capital Management.
One of the main attractions at Bojangles is their signature chicken meals, which come with nine sides and four sauces to choose from. The chicken is marinated in a secret blend of spices, then hand-breaded. The sides include classic Southern favorites such as mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, and green beans. Bojangles also offers a variety of breakfast items, sandwiches, and salads.
Location History
The history of the land on which the new Bojangles is located can be traced back to 1956, as seen in aerial images. At that time, the site had a couple of isolated houses. In the late 1960s, construction began to redirect Texas 183, forming a narrow strip of land between the highway and Euless Boulevard. However, aside from a church, no buildings were constructed on the site until Tommy’s Express Car Wash opened in 2021.
