What was once a brushy stretch along FM 620 is now home to the Austin area’s first Tim Hortons. We first covered the project in April 2024, months before the coffee shop opened. Since opening in December 2024, the location has earned generally positive customer ratings. The images below show how dramatically the property changed, from scattered trees and brush to a busy commercial corridor.
April 2002
The future restaurant site remained undeveloped in April 2002, with open ground, brush, and sparsely spaced trees. FM 620 already bordered the property, but little development had reached this stretch of the corridor. The aerial shows the site before buildings, parking lots, and surrounding residential growth reshaped the area.
October 2025
The same property looked completely different in October 2025, with the Tim Hortons site surrounded by new development. Parking areas, access drives, landscaping, and nearby buildings had replaced most of the open ground and brush. Residential development also filled much of the land east and southeast of the property. A few mature trees remained, but the sparsely wooded roadside tract seen in 2002 had largely disappeared. FM 620 now runs beside a far more built-up commercial corridor.
