A new Walmart Supercenter in Celina, Texas is nearing completion. The store is being built at Preston Road and the Collin County Outer Loop as part of the Shawnee Trail development, a large mixed-use project in one of North Texasโ fastest-growing areas.
The store is expected to open April 29, 2026, with the fuel station planned to open earlier in mid-April. Construction has progressed into late stages, with interior work and final site improvements underway.
Once completed, the location will become the first Walmart in Celina and a major retail anchor for the surrounding development.
Where the New Walmart Is Located
The new Supercenter is being developed along Preston Road near the Collin County Outer Loop. The site sits within the Shawnee Trail development, which includes retail, dining, and residential components.
This corridor has seen rapid growth in recent years as Celinaโs population continues expanding north of Frisco and Prosper. The location provides access to major regional routes and nearby residential neighborhoods.
Shawnee Trail Development
The Shawnee Trail development spans roughly 190 acres and is planned as a mixed-use retail hub. Walmart will serve as the anchor tenant, expected to draw additional businesses to the area.
Plans for the development include retail buildings, restaurants, and supporting infrastructure designed to accommodate continued population growth in Celina.
