Hard Rock Casino Tejon is no longer a proposed development in Mettler, California. The casino officially opened on November 13, 2025, and is now operating along Highway 166 near Interstate 5, just south of Bakersfield.
What Opened at the Site
The current property represents Phase I of the larger Hard Rock Tejon project. The casino includes a 150,000-square-foot gaming floor with more than 2,000 slot machines and over 50 table games, along with multiple dining options such as a Hard Rock Cafe and other on-site restaurants. The facility operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, according to the company’s official information.
What Visitors Are Saying So Far
Early feedback shows strong turnout and steady traffic. Reports from opening weekend described large crowds, with visitors noting lines for entry, gaming areas, and dining.
More recent visitor accounts continue to describe a busy environment, including wait times at restaurants, but generally positive impressions of the food and overall experience once inside.
Some reports also note that despite the crowds, the size of the gaming floor has helped maintain availability on slot machines during peak periods.

What Is Still Coming
The full resort is not complete. A second phase is planned to include a 400-room hotel, a large entertainment venue, and additional amenities. No confirmed opening date has been announced for that expansion.
Current Status
Hard Rock Casino Tejon has been operating since November 2025 as the first phase of a larger resort development. The casino and dining components are active, while the hotel and entertainment expansion remain in development.
