New Target in Orlando, Florida: How the Project Looks Going Into 2026

Earlier this year, we looked at the Target planned for the Lake Nona West development in Orlando. With November here, this revisit checks how the project has progressed. The retail center continues to move forward. The overall timeline is no longer the same as first expected.

Construction and Current Timeline

The center is now expected to open in Spring 2026. That replaces the earlier 2025 expectation. The development address is 5955 Lake Nona Blvd in Orlando. A March 2025 satellite image shows early site work. Building pads are shaped across the property. The largest pad seems intended for the Target space. Other pads appear ready for additional anchors. Vertical construction is not visible in that dated image. Permit listings do not show completed structures. The developer has not posted a detailed construction update.

Location and Development Details

Lake Nona West covers about 405,000 square feet. It spans roughly 54 acres. The layout follows an open-air design. The center includes several anchor pads and smaller retail areas. Confirmed tenants include Target and Nordstrom Rack. Barnes & Noble and Homesense are also listed. Total Wine & More rounds out the main group. The plan features outdoor plazas and walkways. Twenty fast chargers are expected on site. Leasing reports show strong interest from retailers.

What Comes Next for the Center

Site work continues, but few new details appear in public records. The Spring 2026 date matches the visible pace. The project still draws attention due to its scale. It remains one of the larger developments in southeast Orlando. Future updates will depend on new filings or statements. For now, the Spring 2026 target is the clearest guide.
