New Sprouts Farmers Market Coming to Waxahachie in 2026

Waxahachie’s grocery scene is about to get greener. Sprouts Farmers Market is setting up shop on Bessie Coleman Boulevard, just off Highway 77. When the doors open, shoppers can expect that familiar mix of fresh produce, snacks you’ve never heard of, and aisles that smell like health.

Construction and Timeline

The new store will rise on an open lot across from Academy Sports + Outdoors. It’s a $4.3 million build-to-suit project, designed specifically for Sprouts’ smaller, neighborhood-style layout. Crews are expected to break ground in October 2025 and finish by the following September. By then, Waxahachie will have its own slice of the Sprouts experience—complete with bulk bins, bright lighting, and probably a few too many kale options.

2001 – The land east of Highway 77 was still untouched farmland, with only a few small commercial buildings nearby. This open field would remain undeveloped for over two decades before Sprouts Farmers Market chose it for a new grocery store.

Location and Surrounding Area

You can’t miss it. The site sits right off Highway 77, between the Waxahachie Family YMCA and the busy Marketplace shopping area. The field has been sitting empty for years, surrounded by restaurants like McAlister’s Deli and Buffalo Wild Wings. Once construction starts, it’ll be one of the final pieces of this growing retail corridor, turning that last patch of grass into something a little crunchier.
